I'd like to sell my T51 Murads. That's right, I'm giving up my quest to track down the entire 150-card set, even through I'm over halfway there (88/150, 59% complete). I've recently emailed with a guy who is two cards away from completing the set, which he's been working on for nearly a decade. Obviously I don't currently have the funds or desire to spend the next 8 years trying to finish the set, so I'm going to try to cut my losses.
Therefore, I'd like to give my blogging friends the right of first refusal on them. I want to sell the entire lot and not break them apart if at all possible (and unless it's a rare Hochevar card, I don't want to trade them away). If I don't hear from anyone within the next week, I'm going to throw them up onto eBay.
Send me an offer. Thanks!

In unrelated news, I'm once again doing MOvember, wherein I grow a mustache to raise money for testicular and prostate cancer. If you'd like to donate toward the cause, please go HERE.
In the spirit of MOvember (and in an attempt to reignite my blogging fire), I'll be posting weekly MOvember mustache progress updates throughout the month, complete with cards featuring mustachioed fellas. Stay tuned.

The Cabin in the Woods
No, not the horror movie.
No, not the coffee-table picture book.
No, not the "how to build a cabin in the woods" plan kit.
It's just a tiny piece of 100-year-old cardboard featuring a cabin in the woods.
And it's the second to last one I have from the lot-of-27 I bought many moons ago. Just like many lakes around my state, the electronic bay has dried up of Murads I need. Hopefully they will start springing up during the autumnal harvest.

McGill
It's been a while since I've posted a Murad card, so I thought I'd show off this McGill College/University sledding card.

I Don't Have the Heart to Tell Him
That the 2012 Olympics have already started because he's been working on his back stroke all day.
He's got great form, but, because he's a dog, has no idea how to work a calendar and no idea he'll have to wait till 2016 to go for the gold.
Speaking of the Olympics, in a couple of months, when Olympic fever has died down, someone needs to remind me that swimmer Missy Franklin is a Colorado resident and has a certified autograph (for the Colorado Collection, should I ever revive it) and a manupatch American flag card (for the Manupatch Collection).
In the Olympic spirit, here is one of the few remaining Murad cards I've not yet shown off that features an Olympic style sport: shooting.

No Louis? What Is He, Chopped Liver?
This has to be the best picture of my collection to date. I'm assuming a modern day version of this card would include hillbilly handfishing/noodling of a catfish. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Ghost Stories
I love the scene depicted in this Penn College card. It reminds me of all the camping trips my family took when I was growing up.
Probably my favorite clean joke to tell around the campfire is a version of a joke I heard comedian Jon Fox tell on the Bob and Tom show years ago.
My favorite dirty joke is also one I heard on the Bob and Tom Show during a skit called "Elevator Talk".
So, what's your favorite joke or story to tell around the campfire?

Probably my favorite clean joke to tell around the campfire is a version of a joke I heard comedian Jon Fox tell on the Bob and Tom show years ago.
A magician was on a cruise ship doing a gig when he noticed in the front was a passenger with a parrot. He didn't make much of it until he did a trick where a dove appeared magically out of thin air.
"It was in his sleeve!" cried the parrot.
The magician, somewhat annoyed, played the remark off, and continued on with his show.
The next trick he performed involved making his assistant disappear from one side of the stage, and magically appear on the other side of the stage.
"He's using twins!" yelled the parrot.
"Ok, this is getting a little annoying," thought the magician, as he went into a third trick, which involved making a metal sphere float in mid air.
"The ball's on a wire!" blurted the parrot.
At this point, the magician is absolutely flumoxed...He thinks "How can I continue my show? This bird is giving away all my secrets?"
Just as he's getting ready to go into his next trick, a terrible shaking from hitting an iceberg rocks the boat, and the ocean liner suddenly sinks like a rock, leaving the magician and the parrot clinging to a piece of wood.
For the next two days, the parrot and the magician cling to this piece of wood, just staring intently at each other. Sitting and staring, staring and sitting. At the end of the second day, the parrot says "Ok, I give up. What did you do with the ship?"
My favorite dirty joke is also one I heard on the Bob and Tom Show during a skit called "Elevator Talk".
As a man boards an elevator, he notices that a gorgeous woman is already riding the elevator. They exchange pleasantries and then silently stare forward for about ten floors. It is then that the man sheepishly asks, "Um, excuse me, miss, but, can I smell your panties?"
She gasps, "Of course not!"
"Oh", he replies. "Then it must be your feet."
So, what's your favorite joke or story to tell around the campfire?

Speaking of the All-Star Game, is anyone going to partake in the All-Star Game Memorabilia Auction? There are tons of great items listed, but they obviously carry a big premium.

Cinci
The University of Cincinnati's Murad card is surprisingly dull considering how ornate the background and crest are.
Also from Cincinnati:
My second favorite way to eat chili, Cincinnati chili.
My second favorite young stand-up comedian, Josh Sneed.
And my second favorite touchdown dance, the Icky Shuffle.

Fireworks Free
This may be one of the first times I can remember the fine citizens of my town abiding by the fireworks ban that's been put in place due to the heat and drought. And after the destruction the Waldo Canyon fire caused in Colorado Springs, I couldn't be happier to be living with such law-abiding citizens.
So, how about some patriotic themed cards of my favorite players?
And what's a post without Old Glory?
Let freedom ring!

Suri Cruise?
Noooooooo! Sy-ra-cuse! Today's 'Morning Murad' is of Syracuse.
I was gonna be so pissed if this card had any color other than orange on it. Just wouldn't seem right.
And, how about a quick little contest? I'm not sure what to think about the above "athlete". In the comment section, tell me what you think is going on in the picture. The one that I enjoy the most will win their choice of one of the Murad duplicates I have, and I'll mail it to them in a PWE later this week.

This was one of the Murads I was most excited to see in my mega-lot, because I knew with this card I could, with good reason, post the following videos of Cornell's most famous son, Andy "The Nard Dog" Bernard.

Class Day
One of the traditions from the east coast universities that I'm sad never made it to my southeastern Colorado alma mater is the class day speech.
And Yale's had some good ones recently. I can't imagine how cool it would have been to have one of these famous figures speak to my graduating class.
Tom Hanks
Bill Clinton
Christopher Buckley
Tony Blair
